The
Library Board is continuing work on Phase III of the library expansion.
The vacant structures on the River Road side of the library have been
demolished, with the land filled in and fenced.
The library staff is working on adding
RFID tags to all library books, CDs and DVDs as the first step in installing
security gates at the present entrance on 23rd St. and the new entrance on
River Road.
By spring, library visitors will
be able to park in the new parking lot off River Road and enter the library via
the new entrance. Handicapped parking spaces will be added to the
existing parking on 23rd St.
Over the
summer, the parking area adjacent to Neale School will be
realigned with a few more spaces added. All construction of parking areas
is aimed at improving traffic flow, increasing the amount of parking available
and making entry to the library more accessible.
